KYOHAN SHOTOKAN KARATE FOR FITNESS & SELF PROTECTION

Shotokan Karate is one of the most popular styles of Karate worldwide and a traditional martial art. It’s often recognisable by its Tiger logo and powerful dynamic techniques. You can read a little about the history of Shotokan Karate here.
 

Our Shotokan Karate training includes:
 

  • Traditional Solo Forms (kata)

  • Analysis of solo forms

  • Using Fundamental techniques (kihon) with pads

  • Sparring (kumite) with striking and grappling using kata

  • Physical Fitness, balance and mobility

  • Self Protection Scenario Training
     

We welcome complete beginners as well as those who have trained for many years.

Coach John Titchen has taught Shotokan Karate in the USA, UK, Canada and Europe and his books on self defence and applying kata are respected worldwide.

The Practical Karate Association has taught karate classes in High Wycombe for 22 years.
